A recently paroled master thief assumes the identity of Sheriff Lucas Hood in Banshee, Pa., where his former lover and partner in crime relocated years ago and reinvented herself as Carrie Hopewell, the wife of the town's prosecutor. As Lucas attempts to reunite with Carrie and keep his past a secret, he resumes his life of crime, even as he's hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier, including a mob boss who seeks revenge against Lucas and Carrie for the jewel heist that landed Lucas in prison.

Banshee boldly pivots into a darker and more mature mystery for its fourth and final season, finding fresh terrain for the proudly pulpy series while providing satisfying closure.

Banshee: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Alan Sepinwall Uproxx As dark and nasty and psychologically tormented as Banshee has always been, it's also been fun on some level, and it's incredibly hard to have fun playing in this particular sandbox. Mar 27, 2018 Full Review Banshee: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Les Chappell AV Club If there's one thing Banshee has always been, it's a show that does everything on its own terms, and that includes its ending. Rated: A- Apr 5, 2016 Full Review Banshee: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Allison Keene Collider Banshee's story is full of twists and unexpected connections, as well as its telltale brutal violence. In a sick streak of creativity, the show continues to find new, gruesome ways to kill people. Rated: 4/5 Mar 30, 2016 Full Review Banshee: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Randy Dankievitch TV Over Mind With "Requiem", Banshee doesn't go out like the funeral procession its title suggests it would: but it's that final twist of optimism that seals everything neatly into place, a final hour that is more than a fitting farewell to a memorable series. Mat M Best tv show/ending I've ever seen! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Best con job show with Antony Starr before he blew up on The Boys. This show also catapulted Hoon Lee and Lili Simmons careers. In Banshee, I'm not sure Antony Starr was a con artist before he went to prison but when he got out he became one lol. IMO Banshee is better than Sneaky Pete on Prime Video. Additionally, smokeshows Eliza Dushku and Odette Annable were both on this show. Yum! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Regal R 90/100 - I was pleasantly surprised when season 4 ended in a satisfying way. All the loose ends were tied up and I'm glad they didnt extend it another 2 episodes (season 4 is the only season with 8 episodes instead of 10) just for the sake of extending it. If I'm being honest I should have deducted a point for the corny speech at the end (its kind of comical how they tried to leave it) but that aside everything else was solid. They even left it in a way where it could be continued without it being a cliffhanger which is cool but I respect the directors decision when he said this."We agree with the president that the show has ended on a good note and there is nothing else to show. Therefore, it is the right decision to end it. Dragging the story will affect its quality and will also lead to negative remarks from the critics which might also cost it some viewership. Like me, the majority of other fans also agree with this statement and are satisfied with the finale of the show. So, there is no pressure on the makers from the fans."
